2011-2017 Ford 6R140 TorqShift 6 High Performance Transmission Rebuild Kit
This rebuild kit is upgraded with increased clutch capacity, improved clutch plate material, phosphate steels and ZeroFlex technology. Our rebuild kit is unique to Revmax and cannot be purchased at any of the other copycat builders.
The 6R140 is the most robust stock transmission ever put into a passenger truck. However due to cost restraints, Ford elected to use a cheap molded piston to apply and balance the overdrive clutches. The OE piston design only applies a miniscule surface area onto the steel plate. Over time and with hear cycling, this causes the steel and clutch plates to adapt a “cone” memory. This coning causes two further issues. First, clutch pack clearance is reduced which causes drag. This drag then causes the pack to fail as it is being partially applied even when it should not be. Secondly, the coning does not allow the full contact face of the clutch to apply and this causes reduced torque capacity and again rapid failure.
Revmax’s patent pending ZeroFlex technology completely solves the coning and inadequate apply issues by the use of our billet apply piston, balance piston and custom spring assembly. Our apply piston allows the overdrive clutch to apply to 100% of the clutch face surface area. Utilizing this billet piston along with our proprietary billet intermediate shaft, we can also increase clutch capacity past that of ANY of our competition without using thinner steel plates or frictions. You can now build this unit with up to 11 frictions in the OD clutch (10 or 11 friction OD clutch requires a billet intermediate shaft), a whopping 44% increase in clutch surface area. By doing this, you now have increased torque capacity and coning is no longer an issue. In addition our ZeroFlex technology also completely eliminates the clutch squawking issue that is prevalent on all aftermarket 6R140 transmissions without the use of expensive, lubrication oil restricting dampers that are currently being sold by the aftermarket.

Our kits feature Precision International overhaul kits* which are regarded as the finest overhaul kits in the industry. These overhaul kits contain all of the gaskets, o-rings, seals sealing rings and small parts required to completely overhaul your transmission properly. The clutches and steels are RevMax designed and then manufactured by either Raybestos or Alto to our exact specifications. Any custom pistons or pressure plates required are included in our kits. The clutch and steel modules are all designed to be assembled within clearance tolerances out of the box, however it is crucial that all clearances are checked and recorded.
All of our rebuild kits come complete with a pump bushing, sump filter and spin on filter where applicable. Planetary washer kits, bushing kits, bearing kits and other user option items are not included but available for purchase separately on our website. We do this as some customers do not want these parts and others do.
RevMax does not warranty any rebuild kit components as we cannot control the installer’s quality of work or knowledge. It is imperative that you select a highly qualified installer or be extremely competent with the rebuilding process of your transmission.
The 2011-2014 and 2015-2019 transmissions are different from the factory. The 2011-2014 units have more frictions and steels in the Forward and Direct Clutch. This kit is a direct drop in for the early models but the 2015-2019 units will required you to machine the Forward apply piston and Direct pressure plate to run the full amount of clutches as listed below.
