Product Description

The new 10 speed Allison is a work of art. As a joint effort between GM and Ford, this engineering marvel is something from the future. Extremely compact and lightweight for its torque capacity yet packing 10 speeds!

As strong as this unit is in factory form it still cannot tolerate elevated power levels for a long period of time. The first clutch to fail in these units is the E clutch. This clutch is used in most of the gear ranges including, 1,3,5,6,7,8 and 9th gear. The clutch capacity from the factory leaves no additional torque capacity. Initially, the clutch will slip and after it heats the steels up the steels will eventually warp. Once the warping occurs the steels gouge the aluminum apply hub and eventually get stuck. As soon as this happens the clutch completely fails and it then destroys the hub and also tends to burn up additional clutches.

The RevMax 10L1000 Billet E Clutch hub is a patent-pending two-piece design. The splines that engage the main shaft and the clutch hub teeth are made of billet 4140HTSR Steel. The sealing surface for the shaft to hub fitment is made of billet 6061-T6 aluminum. The steel hub will not gouge like the factory aluminum will and the spline coupling will also not strip out as the factory one does.

In addition to the strength upgrades, our design also increases clutch capacity to run 6 frictions which adds 18% to the surface area for increased holding power.
